Yvette Wroby
Yvette Wroby is a painter, cartoonist and writer who has cartooned since the age of 19 for student magazines, community groups and gifts, for published booklets, books and newsletters. In the last 12 years, she has participated in art lessons at Holmesglen TAFE; with teachers John Lawry and the late Zsu Zsi Hartmann; and Monique Fouilliard in Aix-en-Provence. She is now an active member of the Glen Eira Artists Society, where she is part of the Monday Life Drawing, Tuesday Figurative Art Classes with teacher Keming Chen, the new Wednesday Portraiture Swap meetings, as well as Drawing and Painting Lessons with John Lawry.
Yvette writes weekly articles for the online sports journal, www.thefootyalmanac.com.au as a regular contributor in 2011, including cartoons and other artwork. Two recent articles are published in this year’s “The Footy Almanac” collation, edited by John Harms and Paul Daffey, Nov 2011.
Currently Yvette has five pieces hanging at Kinch Café on the corner of Balaclava and Hawthorn Road, Caulfield on an ongoing basis.
Yvette exhibited in a Family Exhibition with mother Elfie Rosenberg and daughter Mimi Wroby in 2010; in the Passion for Paint Exhibition of John Lawry’s students in 2011, Paint in the Park Exhibition for the Glen Eira Artists Society in 2011, Art Town 2012 and Berwick Art Show 2012.
